1. Classification by voltage level
According to the voltage level, it can be divided into ① low-voltage power cable (1kV); ② Medium voltage power cable （6～35kV）；③ High voltage power cable (110 kV); ④ Ultra high voltage power cable (220~500kV).
2. According to the number of conductor cores, the number of conductor cores of power cables can be divided into five types: single core, two core, three core, four core and five core.
3. Classification by insulation materials
(1) Extruded insulated power cable. Extruded insulated power cables include PVC insulated power cables, polyethylene insulated power cables, cross-linked polyethylene insulated power cables, and rubber insulated power cables.
(2) Oil impregnated paper insulated power cable. Oil impregnated paper insulated power cables include ordinary viscous oil impregnated paper insulated cables, non drip oil impregnated paper insulated cables, oil filled cables, and air pressure oil impregnated paper insulated cables.
4. Fire retardant power cables and fire-resistant power cables shall be classified according to functional characteristics and use places.
