Key technology and process breakthrough of new energy cable

1.  Material innovation

• Insulating material ：

• Irradiation crosslinking technology: crosslink PE molecules by electron beam irradiation to improve the temperature resistance level (for example, from 70 ℃ to 125 ℃);

• New elastomer: TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) replaces PVC, which has both flexibility and weather resistance (used for vehicle cables).

• Shielding material : Aluminum foil+braided copper mesh double-layer shielding, shielding efficiency ≥ 85dB (electromagnetic interference suppression of new energy vehicle motor).

2.  Structural optimization

• Lightweight design : Use aluminum conductor instead of copper (such as PV cable ）30% weight reduction and 15% cost reduction;

• Composite armor : The submarine cable is armored with steel wire+aluminum tape, with tensile strength ≥ 500MPa and seawater penetration resistance.

3.  Process upgrade

• Irradiation crosslinking process : Electron accelerator irradiation can modify the molecular structure of the material and improve the aging resistance (PV cable life ≥ 25 years);

• Extrusion synchronous cooling : Double layer coextrusion die+vacuum sizing technology to ensure the thickness uniformity of insulation layer (error ≤ 0.05mm).
